In 2016 alone, we represented 81 children in foster care. Our current caseload includes many complex representations. As a result, in 2016 our attorneys collectively contributed 5,556 pro bono hours representing poor children in our community. Crossroads also manages an on call Attorney ad Litem program in Delinquency Division in Hillsborough County. When children who are not in foster care arrive at a courtroom for their delinquency hearing without a parent or guardian, a Crossroads attorney will come to court to represent the child along with his/her defense counsel to ensure their understanding of the proceeding that will take place. Since Crossroads took over this program in 2013, our pro bono attorneys have represented hundreds of children. Crossroads attorneys who represent kids in their dependency proceedings attend their hearings, foster care case management staffings, and meetings. They co counsel with another Crossroads attorney to ensure attendance at all these important events in their foster care clients life, and are trained and mentored throughout their representations. Crossroads provides professional liability insurance for its attorneys. Crossroads is honored to have received financial support from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation, the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers, and the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation Trial Lawyers and Litigation Section. Crossroads was honored in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit for its Outstanding Pro Bono Service by an Organization in 2014.

It does not serve interest in truth. Dr. Ford was outed as the author of a letter to Senator Feinstein because the outing party wanted to see action shown, in light of the letter, that had not been publically shown. But evidently the letter wasn't considered actionable by Senator Feinstein. Dr. Ford indicated that she had discussed her letter with persons she knows. Likely, then, someone she knows outed her. Civic duty calls for follow up, which could protect Dr. Ford's evident desire for privacy by remaining confidential communication with the Judiciary Committee. But she chose otherwise. Armed with two attorneys, she chose to politicize her experience, evidently exploiting the MeToo atmosphere for the sake of embarrassing Republicans.

Expository Fiction: Blurring the Boundaries Between Fiction and NonFiction in Dragonology and The Discovery of DragonsThe form and function of the contemporary picturebook has undergone significant changes in the past two decades. Postmodern and meta fictive elements and sensibilities Bradford, 1993; Goldstone, 1999; Lonsdale, 1993, polysemous narratives Evans, 1998, radical change elements Dresang, 1999, and various technological advances in printing and book design Salisbury, 2007 have played a role in the evolution of this ubiquitous form in childrens literature. Because of these advances in form, function and design, the way students respond to picturebooks and how these literary texts are utilized by classroom teachers throughout the reading curriculum has also changed Serafini, 2005. As picturebooks have played a more prominent role in the elementary reading curriculum, researchers have investigated childrens responses to various elements and structures of picturebooks, including the relationships between texts and illustrations Baddeley and Eddershaw, 1994, depictions of gender Westland, 1993, endpages Sipe and McGuire, 2006, visual images Arizpe and Styles, 2003, and metafictive devices Pantaleo, 2005. As the forms and boundaries of the contemporary picturebook shift and genres become blurred, new investigations are required to understand the changes taking place and their effects on reading education. Reading researchers, literary theorists and educators have recognized a blurring of the boundaries between fictional literature and non fictional or expository texts Colman, 2007; Duthie, 1994; Palmer and Stewart, 1997; Pappas, 2006; Saul and Dieckman, 2005. Lewis 2001 recognizes the changing nature ofthe picturebook and its flexibility in form, design and content when he describes it as the "chameleon" in the world of childrens book publishing. But what exactly is meant by this blurring of boundaries?Does it simply mean that facts are mixed in with imaginary elements? This seems too simple a distinction. The blurring of the boundaries between fiction and non fiction means more to educators than helping librarians decide how to properly organize books in a library. Might this blurring of genres mean that the lines between the elements of narrative and the structures of expository texts are being combined in new and significant ways?Could it be that new genres, formats and designs are constantly evolving and the picturebook will never look the same?Or, could it be postmodern allegiances to rally against objectivity and truth, or issues of representation are being played out in contemporary picturebooks? In this article, I will share an analysis of two contemporary, postmodern picturebooks; Dragonology Drake and Steer, 2003 and The Discovery of Dragons Base, 1996 to illuminate how the various elements of these "expository fiction" texts are perpetrating a fraud on young readers in playful and unusual ways.
